First announced in 2019, League of Legends: Wild Rift has been gradually becoming available as an open beta around the world. The game has garnered a vast amount of interest even though it wasn’t globally launched yet. The exciting news today is that UK’s ESL Premiership has announced its first Wild Rift Tournament. Teams to be eligible must have players that are at least 16 years old and resident of the following countries: United Kingdom, Ireland, Faroe Islands, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. This is amazing for the MOBA game as it will become quite a popular esports title in the mobile industry as it becomes available worldwide.
The prize pool for this tournament stands at 5,000 GBP which is equivalent to $7,000. It will begin with open qualifiers on April 3rd and teams that advance will enter a round-robin group stage before the playoffs. Following this rigorous process, the remaining teams will enter the finals which will take place on June 19th & 20th.
