We previously wrote about the map Meltdown and discussed its arrival in an upcoming update. Just today, Activision released a new update called Steel Legion to Call of Duty: Mobile featuring a new map and many more additions. The new map happened to be Meltdown as we expected and we are really happy to see it make its debut.
Meltdown is a nuclear power plant which features five main sections. Its industrial terrain allows for a medium-range combat. The map will be available in the following modes: S&D, DOM, TDM, Snipers Only, Gun Game: Team Fight, Gun Game, and FFA. This update also features New Industrial Revolution themed rewards along with New Premium and Free Battle Pass rewards.
Furthermore, there are two new modes now: Gun Game (Team Fight) and 2v2 Showdown. The Gun Game (Team Fight) Mode allows you to progress your weapons by earning kills or with two assists. The first team to reach 60 points or a knife kill on the last level will win. The 2v2 Showdown Mode allows two teams consisting of two players each to face each other using random weapon loadouts that change every 2 rounds. The first to eliminate both enemies or capture the point in overtime wins the match. Also, the first team to reach 6 rounds wins.
Moreover, there is a new ranked season. Season 4 Ranked Mode will start on April 1st and end on June 1st. This new ranked mode features seasonal rewards with Industrial Revolution themed weapons & equipment, improved art and particle effects, and improved matchmaking logic. Keep in mind that Scrapyard map is temporarily replaced with Meltdown now. Also, some good news to share, they have reduced the penalty for losing a ranked match.
Finally, there has been an update to the user interface, Battle Royale improvements, and various bug fixes and optimizations. Click here to read the full patch for this update.
